If it was 'just' that easy or 'just' a blanket/car/small bit of tomato* we wouldn't be feeling like our world may end.
We are intelligent, rational human beings ... it 'just' really really matters to us... it's our comfort, our predictability in a scary world, our sensory overload but you are dismissing it... and teaching us to dismiss our own discomfort ... teaching us to not set safe personal boundaries or self care ...
... because what if we're 'just' being sensitive, silly, selfish and they're not manipulative, controlling, coercive or abusive...
What if we're just being silly and it's not a serious illness...
What if we're just being silly and it's not a heartbreaking loss...
What if we are 'just' oversensitive and silly ... not deserving of help and taking up space.
We don't need to understand why somebody needs something in order to respect it.
If it doesn't hurt the individual or others... then why not 'just' validate and respect it's importance to us ❤️

We know what we want. But we’ve internalised the idea of what we should want, and we have allowed this to terrorise us.
