Adjustment of the mindset

The most powerful 'reasonable adjustment' in education is free and requires no resources... it is an adjustment of mindset... we could start here:
Please normalise the following...
Believing and supporting parents (thank you for reminding me of this crucial one).
Saying, "I'm sorry, I zoned out, could you please repeat that" without the other party getting offended/cross.
Scrap attendance awards.
Provide homework clubs.
Movement breaks.
Sitting comfortably (that is NOT with both feet on her ground on a hard chair).
Scrap reward charts.
Stimming.
Replace 'punishment' with restorative reflection and compassion.
Not demanding eye contact as a sign of listening ... I can look at you or I can listen... I can rarely do both.
Writing down instructions.
Providing printouts instead of copying.
Fidgeting.
Doodling.
Allowing comfortable clothing.
Sensory integration.
What else would you add?

We know what we want. But we’ve internalised the idea of what we should want, and we have allowed this to terrorise us.
